Future Perspective and Scope of Work

As a future graduate of our master’s program “Electrical Engineering” with the degree of M.Eng. you must be capable of familiarizing yourself relatively quickly with any new assignments within electrical engineering.  Due to the large spectrum of study topics for the degree it is also required that you dive deeper into specific areas. There are numerous areas for you to work in: research & development as well as production, planning, operation and management. With the degree M.Eng you will have fulfilled the formal requirements for a post doctorate, this means being able to apply for a doctor title Dr.-Ing. respectively Ph.D. at any German or foreign university. Furthermore this title may enable you to get a high level employment in governmental organisations. The classic areas in which graduates of this program go to work in are: energy generation, -transmission, -distribution, and application, electrical drives & automation technology, mechatronic systems, electronics, micro computer technology, communication technology, microwaves and high frequency technology just to name a select few.  

The majority of employment opportunities for master graduates are in small, middle and large companies in the electric industry. Electronic products and systems and therefore jobs, are also found in other areas, like mechanical engineering, the automobile and aircraft industry, power tool industry and robotics etc. but also in building technology management as well as in the general medicine & hospital area; e.g. a promising discipline AAL (ambient assisted living) is currently being developed. Because of your well rounded and advanced education in electrical and telecommunication engineering, graduates of this master’s program are well suited for this area.

Extensive polls of small and large international industrial companies in our area clearly show that there is a high demand for graduates of this program to lead challenging positions.
